Incentives for Endangered Species Conservation at a Regional Scale

Client

Independent Environmental Assessment Organisation

The challenge

Many range and habitat preferences of endangered species are not well known, and this uncertainty can be a barrier to species recovery and development planning.

Our approach

Reenvision worked in partnership with an independent environmental assessment organisation to facilitate a process to explore the extent to which a more integrated approach could be developed — taking into account statutory planning, private sector investment planning, and species recovery planning.

The outcome

A better understanding of the multiple perspectives on regional-scale habitat management necessary to protect species, integrate knowledge systems underpinning conservation and development planning, and provide investors and developers with a clearer path for permitting.

Reenvision
